Thank you to everyone who attended the Spring Town Hall. After much conversation and discussion, it was decided that all of the ideas were amazing ideas. So, why not just do them all?! This year's theme is All In Play: a focus on reclaiming our childhood wonder, bringing back pranks, and making our little corner of the world more inclusive and welcoming to everyone who take a chance and come to create with us. So bring on the inclusivity, snark, whimsical, pranks, and wonder that make Myschievia what it is: US! Spring Town Hall is March 23rd, 2024!
More details will be provided shortly, but mark your calendars, put up your sticky notes, and write it on your friend's hand! We need your Theme Proposals! Do you have an idea for Myschievia's theme this year? Submit a proposal! What you should include:
Send your ideas and presentations to [email protected] with the subject line "2024 Theme Proposal". The deadline for Theme Proposals is March 13th! See you March 23rd! (edit: to add Theme Proposal deadline) We know it can be a bit confusing once on land to figure out where to go. There are signs and flags marking the land to help with navigation.
Here's what the colors mean:
You can remove the flags in the colors above once you've figured out where your theme camp/art goes Please do not move or remove the flags in the colors below. They will be removed after the event.
RVs on Land We've had a bit of rain and it looks like we'll get some more during the event. We recommend that everyone who is bringing an RV also bring traction boards, more so in Dagobah. The land in many areas is made of a sandy loam that can turn into a shallow quicksand-like mud with too much rain and traffic. RVs are particularly susceptible to getting stuck because of their weight and they are often not built for off-road terrain. This is one of the main reasons we don't allow wheels to stay on the lower field, and prefer to place RVs up at Crossroads. Happy packing! I'll see you on land, Havok City Planning Lead Round 'em up, Campers!
As we are all Earth Guardians at our upcoming shindig, let's sail down the trail of LEAVE NO TRACE! Together, we can make a yeehawin' impact by keepin' our surroundings as clean as a freshly swept saloon floor. Here's some tips to help us be responsible stewards of our beautiful range: Don't Bring Trash Batten down the hatches and leave behind the excessive packaging. Strap on your reusable bags and aim to cut down on waste at every turn. Lasso Them Shinies Make sure your glitzy bits, bottle tops, and such are roped down tight to your gear. If somethin' tumbles off, it's become MOOP (Matter Out Of Place). Trail Check Before You Ride Off Before you mosey on from any spot, take a gander 'round and make sure you ain't dropped nothin'. If you spot somethin' amiss, be neighborly and pick it up, and dispose of it properly to honor the spirit of community. Lost and found round up at Volunteer HQ! Keep MOOP Out of the Outhouse Dispose of personal hygiene items like wipes properly, and don't go leavin' 'em scattered about the prairie or in the portos. Keep a bag for wipes and a bag for trash, and when they've served their purpose, toss 'em where they belong, in your trash at home. Don't MOOP in the POOP Dispose of them personal hygiene items, like them wipes, in a proper manner. Don't be abandonin' 'em in the big blue boxes. Keep a bag for the wipes and a bag for trash, and when they've served their purpose, toss 'em where they belong, in your trash at home... And remember, don't be stowin' your phone in your back pocket – lest ye be riskin' an unfortunate accident! Separate Your Recycling If the wind be in your favor and ye can separate them recyclables, do it like you're sortin' through your treasure chest. Crush them cans like you're squeezin' gold from a doubloon, and make use of multiple MOOP buckets if you have 'em. Keep 'em under wraps like a treasure map, so nothin' escapes. Appoint a MOOP Wrangler Choose a trusty hombre or hombre-ette within yer camp to be the MOOP Wrangler. They'll be the rootin'est, tootin'est varmint in charge of organizin' the sweep. Roundup the Pre-Exodus MOOP Before we pack up and hit the dusty trail, gather 'round like a posse and do a thorough MOOP sweep of your campsite. Pick up anything that don't belong in the natural landscape, from zip ties to the shiniest of trinkets and all else that glitters. Leave No Trace Remember, it's our sacred duty as Earth Guardians to MOOP it before we mosey on out. Don't be lettin' our campsite become a snake pit of clutter. Leave the land as pristine as a clear desert sky at sundown! Let's ride out as Earth Guardians and be the kind of folks that'd make even the toughest cowpoke proud. Your little ol' actions can make a big difference, partner. -Your Earth Guardian Lead, Dogma Do you want to help the META team but haven't been able to make it out for a build weekend?
We still need assistance moving structures and prepping for burn on Saturday and Sunday during Myschievia. Shifts available: Help prep the effigy for ignition Saturday from 3pm-7pm! Help prep and move temple on Sunday from 5pm-7pm! Please fill out the volunteer form and sign up on the shift spreadsheet so we can track your volunteer hours and know how much help to expect! Get all the info on how to volunteer here. Registration will close on Sunday, 10/1 for mutant vehicles so get your apps in ASAP if you intend to bring your motorized monstrosities to the burn.
**Mutant vehicles must be registered in advance - if you don't register ahead of time you'll be leaving your MV in parking with your normie car!** Get the info on how to register here. MORE DMV NEWS: Thanks to tons of help from the AAA team and City Planning, we have taken several steps to help burners with mobility needs get around our beautiful city. If you check out the official map, you can see several different Bus Stops placed around the city this year so that Burners who need or want a ride can head to the nearest bus stop and wait for pickup by local Mutant Vehicles! Bus Stops are marked on the map with a horny blue cow icon. Important note: Unlike default world bus stops, there's not a set schedule for pickup times. So, if you're at a bus stop (or generally wandering around the burn) and you see a Mutant Vehicle headed your way with a GREEN license plate, this means that Mutant Vehicle is open to providing rides! Flag 'em down, say howdy, and see if they're headed the same way you are! It's here! It's here! This year's map is here! Special thanks to Havoc and eXo for this thing of beauty.
