Read the info below before registering your RV.
Please note: The roads on the Piney Playa are rough and unpaved and tree clearance varies. Due to marshy and difficult terrain, there is no guarantee that your RV will be placed with your theme camp. Most RVs will be placed at Crossroads and overflow will be placed in Parking. NO larger vehicles, trailers, or campers can be parked on the lower field.
Do I have to register my RV?
All participants must register their RVs for proper placement. RVs include motor homes, camper-vans, caravans, travel trailers, camper trailers, fifth-wheel trailers, popup campers, teardrop trailers, truck campers, toy haulers, tiny homes, converted box and flatbed trailers.
What's the big deal with RVs?
The logistics of getting RVs into place at Myschievia are significantly more challenging than in the expansive desert or the flat plains and prairies of many other Burns. The land is more conducive to erecting a structure in place than driving a similarly sized vehicle into the same spot. This is because trees exist. A lot of trees. And you can’t drive through trees.
Myschevia takes place in the piney woods of East Texas, a rough terrain that is heavily timbered. While the City and Land teams have worked diligently with the Land Owner over the years to make the land more hospitable to hosting our event, it’s still not very friendly to RVs. While we’ve worked to map the land, we haven’t had the time to document all the trees. There’s so many of them and I swear more are growing by the day.
On top of that some pockets of terrain are made up of a sandy loam. When wet this soil can become mushy, and under heavy rain and traffic can turn into a quicksand like mud. RVs are significantly heavier than tents and this limits where they can be safely placed. Overall Crossroads has a denser soil, is less treed throughout, and minimizes an RV’s trek through problematic terrain to get in and out of the event. This is why we strive to place most RVs at Crossroads.
While we strive to accommodate requests to place RVs with the theme camps they prefer, when a large number of RVs attend our event we can not guarantee that. We recommend you make plans to be able to run your RV and theme camp separate from the other.
Once all viable space for RVs have been filled or if your RV was not registered, it will be placed in the RV Overflow section in Parking.
