NTXB Art Grant Policy
Every year, NTXB issues grants with the purpose of funding art projects that will be displayed throughout the Myschievia event.
Criteria:
The proposed art shall:
- Have a strong visual component
- Have strong use of color, sound, light, texture, and physical space
- Be unique and original
- Be interactive and allow community members to touch/play/experience the piece
- Be safe and not raise any safety concerns
- Have a Leave No Trace plan and not be MOOPy
Process:
- The Art Grant Lead will assemble a committee who will review the submissions.
- The Art Grant Lead will provide a form where artists can complete all necessary information, request funding, and provide images of their proposed project.
- The Art Grant Lead will compile all submitted data and provide an easy to review method for the committee to review and score the projects. This committee will also make recommendations on the amount of funding they deem the projects should receive.
- The LLC will review all recommendations and provide final approval.
- Artists will be notified and contracts for each artist will be provided with a deadline for submitting back to the LLC. Contracts may be signed and returned before funds will be dispersed.
- LLC will then disperse the funds for the approved grant amount.
- The Art Grant Lead will provide the project dimensions and Project Lead contact information to City Planning.
- The same information for projects that use fire will be sent to the Myschievia Fire Chief.
- The Project Lead will be expected work with these 2 leads to have their art safely installed at the event
Rules:
- The LLC does not fund infrastructure for theme camps, vehicles for mutant vehicles or art cars, bikes, or amplified sound equipment, but will fund materials to art such things.
- Members of the NTXB, LLC; Batcave; the Art Projects Lead; and the Art Grant Committee are not eligible to receive grant money to avoid conflicts of interest.
- The maximum amount any one individual may receive is $599
- Larger projects may have multiple people submit different portions of the project for funding to encourage collaboration.
- You will be required to submit receipts for the funds you were awarded. Any unused funds must be returned to NTXB, LLC. Receipts must be dated within the year of the event. Receipts must be emailed to [email protected] by October 31.
- Durable goods, fuel, transportation to the event, nor tickets will be funded. Example: We would fund a rented generator if your project requires it, but we will not fund buying you a generator.
