Spring Town Hall Wrap-Up

We had a great time at Spring Town Hall! In case you missed it, here's what went down:

Financials

KareBear from the LLC presented last year's financials and we all discussed what the community would like to work toward.

• Larger percentage of finances went to insurance (it went up by 5x the previous year's amount) and legal fees.
• Because of the consistent issues with renting them, the community would love to see NTXB LLC to work toward our own gators.
• Efforts toward our 501(c)3 are paused while we look for land.

Land Search

Exo and Havoc from the Land Search Committee presented the team's findings:

• They have formulated a list of requirements for our future home. You can read all about those here.
• They showed us an assessment example and gave us a better understanding of the full size of the event.
• A call for land suggestions submissions was made. You can submit those here.
• The team affirmed that they will absolutely accept anything that will work for us this year, with a more permanent solution in the future. 

Leadership Applications

Wasabi from the LLC reminded everyone that leadership applications are open.

• A reminder that every year, volunteer department leads and Batcave members are required to re-apply for their positions. All roles are listed as vacant until the lead for the current year is instated. 
• Leadership applications for 2025 are currently OPEN and LLC will begin interviews March 26th.

Theme Presentations and Voting

Get your theme ideas percolating - There will be a call for theme presentations coming soon! We'll be doing virtual theme submissions and online voting this year so that the community at large will have more of a chance to cast their votes. Get those gears turning!

Burners Without Borders has three events coming up soon:

• Saturday, March 22 @ 7:30am - come help out at Minnie's Food Pantry in Plano!
• Saturday, March 22 @ 10:30pm - the return of ROLLERBURN at Interskate in Lewisville.
• Saturday, April 5 @ 11am - Flowmies are teaching Big Brothers/Sisters flow art

Safetyside is March 21 - 23!

• Safetyside is a free, annual weekend campout and conference focused on training and sharing knowledge for safety-focused volunteers, brought to us by our friends at Burning Flipside.
• ​The Facebook event is here. Register here to let them know you're attending for an accurate headcount. 
• Sign up for a volunteer shift! Safetside needs folks to help load and unload the van at the warehouse, and to help setup and teardown onsite. Find more details (and add your name) on the signup sheet here.

The website (https://www.burntsouptx.com/) hasn't been updated with this year's information yet but an invitation for Myschievians was extended by a member.
