Everything about Mys will remain the same, we will just be on the list of Official Regional Burns which gains us access to:
Ticket update Emails will be all be sent for discounted (12+ hours of volunteering) or VIP (8+ hours of volunteering) tickets by Monday 6/15. Email LLC if you still don't have an email by Monday 6/15.
Lead updates META will need builders! Sign ups should be ready mid-July. Land Prep will need help with land improvements during work weekends. Stay tuned for dates! Volunteer for Earth Guardians and keep the site MOOP-free! Tribal Cities updates The Tribal Cities volunteer app is currently being updated. If we get a positive response from the community, the only conditions we don't currently meet is a sponsorship from an existing regional and the adoption of the BM Ten Principals above. Things to keep in mind for your ideas:
Accessibility: Make sure all burners, even those without the ability to climb a ladder or stairs, can participate in the art. Feasibility: Try to keep it in reasonable terms as if it can be made structurally sound, built by human hands, and within a decent budget. Environmental impact: We can't use pressure treated wood or chemical-based paints or dyes. Size and portability: Effigy must be no larger than 20’x20’x20’ at the time of incineration. The structure must be modular & transportable in 2 26’ box trucks. Temple: must be no larger than 12’x12’x12’ at the time of incineration. The structure must be modular and transportable in 1 15’ box truck and must be able to be relocated from the temple site to the burn scar. Lead Roles Still Available! But only a few.. Ice Lead, Zone Guide Lead, and Sound Marshal Lead. Get your application in while they're still vacant! You can learn more and apply by visiting the Volunteer page. The Theme for Mys 2026! We had so many great theme ideas this year. Thank you to everyone who submitted them! The winner is: Nat 20 What is Nat 20? In role playing games like D&D, when you roll a natural 20 on a 20-sided dice it's a huge boost! We know the 20th Myschievia will be obscenely amazing so we're taking the good fortune of a Nat 20 roll and applying it to the burn. Get into theme this year with taverns, hobbit holes, fairy gardens, goblin swamps, elf ears, and wizard robes! Build your burn character sheet with extra stamina and charisma! We can't wait to see the effigy ideas for this one. Ticket Release Dates! Emails will slowly going out for the discounted tickets (for those superstars who volunteered 12+ hours) soon. Summer Town Hall! We get to see your lovely faces again in less than a month. That's right! Another town hall is scheduled in June. Here's the details:

First up: MINI TOWN HALL When: May 16 @ 4pm Where: Deep Ellum Art Co Why: Theme proposals, voting and selection! Next we have: SUMMER TOWN HALL When: June 13 @ 4pm Where: Deep Ellum Art Co Why: Effigy proposals, voting and selection with bonus volunteering info! In case you missed it, we chatted about the new site, finances, volunteer needs, and plans for the upcoming year.
Attendance Myschievia 2025 had 624 attendees, which is significantly fewer than past years. Likely reasons for the lack of attendees were that many people thought it wasn't going to happen last year and some were tentative about the new land. We did need to cap it at 650 last year because of a lack of critical volunteer slots filled. After discussing with other burn organizations, it was noted that attendance and volunteer numbers were down a hefty percentage at almost every burn last year. New Land We had some up and downs but the transition to Llama Land has been a success so far! The downsides:
Event Recap and Incidents The trial of fee-based early entry was a success! Since we have to pay per person, per day at the site, early entry for theme camps came with a cost per head. Those who paid it seemed to think this was fair and we didn't have too much of a cost to the org for those theme camps who wanted to get started setting up early. There were a small number of incidents:
Volunteer Needs Volunteers remain the backbone of Myschievia. Last year, the community contributed 5,714.5 volunteer hours between land prep weekends, build weekends, and on-site volunteering at the event. Thank you to everyone who volunteered! Currently, a small core team carries most of the workload. Last year’s Mys nearly had to be canceled due to insufficient volunteer support. If we don't have the numbers again this year, we will be faced with this difficult decision again. We ESPECIALLY need Batcave volunteers!
