From ntxb.firecracker at gmail.com Sun Dec 11 18:15:28 2011 From: ntxb.firecracker at gmail.com (Myschievia Firecracker) Date: Sun, 11 Dec 2011 17:15:28 -0600 Subject: [Myschievia-Announce] Happy New Year from NTXB! Message-ID: First of all, we want to thank everyone who came to Myschievia 2011 and made it such an amazing event! We haven't had a chance to thank y'all properly, and that's a damn shame because the volunteers really BROUGHT IT this year. So THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! We appreciate y'all SO much! :) But we still have some unfinished business.... There's a Tree of Life waiting in storage in Hughes Springs, and it really needs to be burned. And the burn ban was recently lifted in Cass County, so we would like to cordially invite all Myschievians and their loved ones BACK to Armadillo Acres to rebuild the effigy.....and finally, FINALLY have our first real burn in two years. Since it will be on New Years Eve, we're calling Myschievia 7.2 "Newyearschievia." We can't think of a better way to ring in the New Year, and we would love it if y'all could join us. When: Gate opens Fri Dec 30 at 6pm, and everyone needs to be out by 5pm Sunday Jan 1 Where: Armadillo Aces in Hughes Springs How much: $10 to cover portapotties and insurance What to bring: cold weather gear, fire toys, warm and yummy eats and drinks. Also, cordless drills if you'd like to help put the effigy back together, and branches and other offerings for the Tree of Life. What NOT to bring: firearms, fireworks (sorry), kids, or dogs. So, if driving 2-3 hours to camp in the cold and burn stuff sounds awesome to you, go to the Facebook event to RSVP so we know how many portapotties to order: http://www.facebook.com/events/129832273795085/ (If you don't do Facebook, just RSVP to myschievia at gmail.com) What? You don't camp in the cold? Don't fret -- for the cold-weather weenies, there will be an alternate burner-friendly party in Dallas on NYE. Go here to find the latest info on "Sparkle!" : http://www.facebook.com/events/298792800142594/ And where ever 2012 finds you, we hope you will be celebrating safely, surrounded by those you love. Happy New Year from the North Texas Burners! :)
